A family run foundation


Purpose

To provide financial help for families and children in need to help themselves by supporting organizations and programs that promote spiritual, medical, cultural, and educational growth or provide essential services.

Summary

The Gochnauer Family Foundation was established in December of 1998 to give back part of the many blessings our family has received, to teach stewardship across generations, and to cultivate seeds that yield high returns in the support of those in need. The Foundation is a 501C3 non-profit organization in the State of California.

Applying for a Grant

Who may Apply:
Grant proposals are accepted only from 501C3 non-profit, tax-exempt, charitable organizations.

Amount of Grants:
Grants typically range from $1,000 to $25,000 and can be for operating or capital needs.

When to Apply:
Trustee’s will make every effort to review your request as soon as possible. All outstanding requests will be reviewed at a quarterly meeting.

How to Apply:
All requests must be in writing. No requests will be taken by phone. Requests should include confirmation of your 501C3 status, a description of the organizations, the purpose for the request, the amount requested, and designated contact person.

All requests in amounts of $5,000 or more must also provide a list of the Board of Directors; current years, plus two previous years, of financials, both operating statements and fun balances; a breakdown on the sources of funds; specific details on how the funds will be used to support the Foundation’s purpose, including how many people will be services; information that will be useful in evaluating your request against the selection criteria; and any other material you feel will be helpful such as videotapes, published articles, board and staff biographies, etc.

Selection Criteria

The Foundation will review each request and prioritize them utilizing the following criteria:

3) The contribution leverage (yield), i.e.:

a) The number of individuals served per $1,000 contributed
b) Ratio of volunteers to staff
c) The percentage of revenue used to raise funds
d) The extent the organization helps others to help themselves, i.e.: the lasting impact

4) The type and needs of individuals served. 8
5) The caliber of leadership, both staff and Board 7
6) Serves people in Southern California, Illinois, Montana, or 3rd world countries 6
7) The financial health of the organization 6
8) Documentation of the benefits or impact on individuals served 5
9) Access to other sources of funds 4
10) The degree to which the organization has broader goals to directly or indirectly replicate programs and services outside their current community. 4
